WHAT IS ORNAMENTS OF GRACE?

An Ornaments of Grace class is much more than a Bible Study. You’ll be blessed as you grow together in your love for God, your family, and others.  The course is divided into six weekly classes, held in the intimacy of one of the mentor’s homes, and provides for older, more experienced women to mentor a group of 8 to 10 younger women through:

  • Honest, open discussions of the topical Bible study based on Titus 2:3-5 using the Ornaments of Grace book as a guide.
  • Cooking demonstrations and sharing a meal, with casual conversation and sharing.
  • Exploring cooking as a ministry of love and hospitality to your family and friends.
  • Encouragement to be the woman that God has called you to be.

Mentors and students alike are both blessed as they grow and learn from one another.

A Statement of Our Beliefs

“...preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight;
they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.
— Proverbs 3:21, 22 (NIV)

We believe the entire Bible (Old and New Testaments) is the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts, and is the final authority for Christian living.

We believe in the Triune nature of the Godhead, eternally existing in three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, and unchangeable and is perfect in every way.

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is both fully God and fully man, two natures in one Person. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a perfectly sinless life, suffered and died on the cross as a completely satisfactory sacrifice for the sin of the whole world. He rose from the dead guaranteeing the resurrection of all who believe in Him. He ascended to the right hand of God the Father where He reigns over the universe and intercedes for believers. He will return to the earth to establish His kingdom.

We believe that since man’s fall into sin in the Garden of Eden, everyone is born with a sin nature and is a sinner by that nature as well as by willful disobedience. Only those who receive Christ by faith are forgiven, born of the Holy Spirit, and thus children of God. We are saved by faith alone, and that faith is evidenced by good works and righteous living.

We believe each believer is indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit for eternity from the moment of saving faith. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to convict of sin, regenerate the believer, guide, and empower him or her, in an on-going process of sanctification.

We believe the Church is the body of all who genuinely believe in and accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Head of the Church. As members of the Church, we are to keep the unity of the Spirit and love one another with pure hearts.

But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine. Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.”
— Titus 2:1, 3-5
